Year 1 - 2019

Ah, the year it all began :)
It's that time of the year
Ever since I was a little kid, i've loved Christmas. I can't help it! I love the lights, I love the atmosphere and I love the magic that comes with it (whoa, sentimental or what - Ed). The other aspect I love is the movies. Ah yes, the fabled Christmas movies, of which there are a select few I will watch every year.

In regards to Christmas movies, there is often a debate as to which is the best one, which is the one that truly tells the meaning of Christmas and so, for this year, I decided to try and put the matter to rest, once and for all (lol, yeah right). OK, so I know there will be many out there that disagree with me, but i'm sure there will be many more that do, right? ;)

Also, it's almost been a full year since I started this comic, I can't believe it! Here's hoping 2020 will yield more inspiration and I can continue to put together a bunch of pixels and color in some kind of semi-coherent form.

So, on that note, I bid thee adieu for this year and wish you all a Merry Christmas and safe and happy holidays and I hope you enjoy the last comic for 2020 :)

Those awkward moments
Come on, we've all had those awkward moments when you initiate a conversation and you're oblivious to the reaction of people around you, until that very last moment when there's pretty much nothing you can do but carry on with your inane and rambling train of thought.

And so, surely there's a way we can turn this into something humorous, right? Well, my mind likes to think so anyway.

I want you to picture the scene. A group of Avengers is off on some important mission and someone says something awkward. How do they counter it? Who breaks the moment and sets things right?

Anyway, regardless of all these questions. As always, I hope the comic can glean a small chuckle from you.

Stay Safe!

It's Halloween!
Yay, it's that time of the year! Halloween baby!

Being from the UK, Halloween wasn't a big deal for us. We'd never carve pumpkins (they were too expensive back in the day) and instead, my mum would carve a turnip for me (i'm not joking here!) So there was a bunch of us walking around with turnips, which actually ended up being scarier than pumpkins :)

The one thing that gets me about Halloween though is when you see people carving and putting out their pumpkins around 2 weeks before Halloween. WHY? All you're going to have come Halloween is a pile of green mush. Which is where the latest comic comes in. :) So, come on people, carve them things a few days before the big dat or you're going to get something really squishy on the big day :)

As always, I hope you enjoy the comic and, until the next time!

Space time :)
This comic has been sitting on my drive for months, I just never got around to publishing it. Also, for some reason, i've been crazy busy lately and I skipped my bi-weekly posting. Boo! However, I do have a number of comics lined up. So there is that.

When the Pluto New Horizons beamed back its incredible images I, along with pretty much everyone else, was blown away by what we saw. The patterns and features on it are breathtakingly beautiful and all I could do was wish we could just take a flight to see it.

Also, Pluto is unlike other planetary body in the solar system, as this comic tries to put forth. So, on that note, I hope you enjoy and, as always, until the next time.

A dark time
And we're back to games, specifically a classic! :)

When I first played Pac-Man, I honestly can't remember how much money I threw into that machine. Suffice to say it was a lot. You could probably make a small fortress out of all the 10 pence coins I shoved into it :)

Anyway, Pac-Man has been devouring those pills and chasing ghosts since 1980, a staggering 39 years and who knows how many pills he's consumed in that time. This, of course, got me thinking. How would someone feel eating pills, fruit and ghosts for that length of time, all the while, running around a lovely black and blue maze.
So, in light of this, I present to you the latest comic. Sure, it's a bit dark, but I hope you enjoy :)

Not a perfect blend
The one problem with having a webcomic is that I draw and write about things that interest me. Because of that, it's clear to see that i'm a nerd.
Oh well :)
So, when I first watched Star Trek IV, I must admit that I enjoyed it but ever since I saw it, all those years ago, there was a scene that really made me chuckle when I thought about a 'what if?' situation. And so, 33 years on (YIKES!) I decided to put this scene down as a silly webcomic for the world to see.
Of course, this also shows how my warped mind works, but hey! Who cares, right? :) Anyway, I hope you enjoy the comic so, without further ado, here it is in all its splendor.

Damn the consequences!
I must admit to being more of a Marvel fan than DC, it's just one of things i'm afraid. However, I do kinda like Shazam, for some reason, but whenever I read it, I always thought that when he called down the power to transform, what happens to everything in the lightning's path? Ok, I may be over-thinking things here, but it's the way my mind works i'm afraid :)

So, in light of this, I decided to put thoughts to pen to digital ink and create the latest comic. I hope you it somewhat amusing.

First day on the job
Well, E3 has pretty much come and gone. I must admit to being somewhat disappointed this year as there wasn't really that much that grabbed my attention. Sure, the HALO was unveiled (not unexpected), some new info on Call of Duty, a Zelda sequel and so forth. Maybe next year's will be more interesting. Hmmm, i'm sure I say that every year :)
Anyway, to the comic! I must admit i've been working on this one for a while. Now, it's not because the comic in itself is complex but I was learning how to do some new art styles. Trust me on this when I say that this style, for me, is a HUGE deal. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this every time, but it's good to try and expand our skillset, right?

In regards to the topic, i'm sure we've all been in the situation but, as always, my strange mind got me thinking what would the first day of the job be like for iconic video game characters? Would they be excited and overwhelmed or terrified.

So, without further ado, here's a link to the latest comic. I hope you find it amusing.

Around and around we go
The build-up to E3 is always a crazy time on the gamer's calendar - yeah, i'm a gaming geek :). We get to see all the trailers for the latest titles and inevitably get caught up in the train of hype. However, as gamers, we're also a jaded bunch and know that, more often than not, the end-product is never as good/great as the E3 trailers, but who cares! We love this time of year and always will.
So, as E3 is around the corner, I thought it best to release some video-game related comics and, who better to kick this off none other than the fabled blue mascot himself; Sonic the Hedgehog! :)
I recently introduced the original game to my son and he loved it! I mean, what's not to love if you think about it :) But, poor Sonic, all he does is spin around and, surely, that's got to take its toll on you after a while. This also shows that kids don't give a hoot about graphics. Playability is where it's at!
Oh, you may also notice that Sonic is fleshed out in this comic, no longer a mere stick-person! Practice makes perfect, right? I'll let you into a secret. In the hands of a talented artis, this would take around 2 minutes. For me? 2 weeks! Urgh, oh well :)
I hope you enjoy it. Here's a link to Sonic's daily grind.

Almost time for the finale!
I must admit, I am a Game of Thrones fan and yes, I must also admit that I have never read the books. While Season 8 has had its ups and downs, overall it's been pretty enjoyable, albeit a bit silly in places.

I've had the idea for this comic for some time, ever since I first saw the Iron Throne. Maybe it's my weird mind at work, but I always wondered about all the pointy bits and, of course, what would happen if it were taken to the extreme :)
Anyway, what better time to unleash a Game of Thrones comic upon the world than three days before the final episode! So, I hope you enjoy this comic and here's hoping the final episode is as crazy as we want it to be.

It's that time of the year
In celebration of Star Wars day (which is tomorrow, I know), what better way to honor it than to put forth (see what I did there?) a comic to highlight all things Star Wars. OK, I know we had one before (here's a link if you want to see) but I thought this one should be a little different.
We also mourn the passing of Peter Mayhew, who brought Chewbacca to life in Star Wars. From the few interviews i've seen of him, he always came across as a really decent person and, from what I can gather, all he peers thought the same thing.

On that note, I hope you enjoy this comic and remember, May the 4th be with you, albeit a day early :)

Flip the coin
Right, this one is another slight shift from the superheroes "theme" but it was an idea that came to mind one evening and it made me laugh. OK, so it may reveal a glimpse behind the mind that makes these comics but come on, I wonder how many out there have had the same thoughts! :) Not many eh? Ah, I see.
Anyway, on a different note, i'm uploading this as I recover from pneumonia. Seriously, i'm not kidding! This shit was real and, let me tell you, AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE! I was trying to think of a way to describe how sick I felt and the best way was something along these lines. Imagine having the worst flu and the world's worst hangover combined, multiply that by ten and have someone continually punch you in the stomach at the same time. Once you can picture this, you're close.
However, i'm now on the mend and am able to post. Yay! So, for now, all I can say is that I hope you enjoy this short comic.

Time for a change
When we talk about 'change', we don't mean that we're going sophisticated (as if we could ever!). Instead, it's time for a quick branch-out into the wonderful world of video gaming. The way I see it, it's not just superheroes who can catch the comic-eye, video game characters are also prime targets, so it had to happen eventually :)

So, for this inaugural video game comic, I chose a somewhat popular character that i'm sure you will recognize - or at least I hope you do and as someone who has worked in the gaming industry for quite a few years, I can sympathize with what we put them through.
It may be a bit dark, but I hope it makes you chuckle. Hope you enjoy the comic.

It went weird
Ok, let's get one thing straight from the get-go. Wonder Woman is the best DC movie out there. Justice League, Batman, Superman etc all fade into insignificance when compared to the new Wonder Woman movie. It's THAT good. But, we can still poke some fun, right? :)

This comic is somewhat weird, one might say, but it made me chuckle to think about something like this. I actually thought that this would actually make a good 'Florida man...' type headline :)

Anyway, hope you enjoy the comic.

Two-in-one time?
And now it's the turn of Star Wars! Woot.
As a huge Star Wars fan - yes, even the less-spoken of movies; Solo and Rogue one (although let's not discuss the abominations of phantom... and attack...urgh) - I feel that this is a universe where one can happily poke fun at things. I've already a few more pieces in the works based in this universe, but this is the first.
So, come on, let's lend some support to good old Chewbacca because things could get fuzzy for him quite quickly, if he doesn't take care of himself :)
Anyway, hope you enjoy the comic.

Stock time
Ah, The Hulk. While he's never been my favorite in the superhero universe, his comics have always been interesting. Whether he's bouncing around like a crazy thing or punching some bad-guy into next week, you can at least guarantee a good bout of action.

I used to watch the TV show when I was a kid and the one thing I would always ask myself was, "Where does he get all his clothes from?" Let's face it, this guy goes through his shirts and trousers like it's nobody's business. I think the main reason he's practicing calm in the new movies is simply to save on his Amazon bill :)
Anyway, hope you enjoy this short comic.

More haste, less speed!
So, the Flash. Nope, we’re not talking about some creepy guy wearing a brown trench-coat lurking in the bushes down your local park. This time it’s the scarlet speedster himself, the fastest man alive (not sure that’s a title you’d always want to be known as), the dude who can run so fast that he can vibrate through objects.
Phew, that’s some resume.
Of course, this provides plenty of opportunity to have some fun and yes, while this first comic is juvenile, it’s the first thing that came to mind.
Hey, it’s my comic :)

It's game day!
“What game?”, I hear you yell. "Hasn’t the Super Bowl been?" True, it has, but i’m talking about rugby, specifically the six nations! The first game was Wales (where i’m from) versus France. It was a close match (Wales were down 16-0 at the end of the first half) but came back to win 24-19! Oh yeah!
Anyway, don’t worry, this isn’t going to turn into a sports page. But, it did give me the opportunity to mess around a bit and, the way I look at it, if Thor is going to support any team, it’s going to be Wales :)

It's mash-up time!
It's comedic mash-up time! :)

The new comic is here and it's a take on the age-old battle of good versus evil; Magneto versus some Avengers person. Once again, there is nothing serious or philosophical about this one, it's just how I envision how things would happen if I were making these movies :)

Anyway, enough with the idle rambling and moping. Please feel free to head on over and check out the new comic right here!

This one is a bit different
It's another comic!

This one is a little off-tangent (or is it, i'm just making this thing up as I go along?) as it's a really short strip on all things space and geeky.

If you've been following the latest exploits of NASA and their amazing New Horizons mission, then this comic will be right up your alley. If not, I apologize and normal programming will resume shortly :)

Either way, feel free to go ahead and check it out.

Welcome to Twistedverse
Hello and Welcome to the launch of Twistedverse!
"What's this?", I hear you ask. What have you stumbled upon? Don't worry, it's only a webcomic. Completely harmless...or is it?
Now you're probably thinking that this is another webcomic, another collection of potentially inane elements to clog up this internet of ours. While there may be some truth to that, I swear that this one is different. I promise! No, truly it is. Well, kinda.
Maybe.
Either way, I hope it brings a smile to people's faces.

Oh, please also read my personal disclaimer regarding my artistic talents. I'm completely honest; they're not good :)

So go ahead, jump right in and check out the first comic. It's something i'm sure we can all relate to :)
